Primary

Savvyaa’s Primary School is designed to help children grow steadily through the years that build their learning base most strongly.

From Grade 1 to Grade 5, the programme is planned to strengthen academics, communication, work habits, thinking, physical confidence, and growing independence - so that children are ready for the next stage of school with a stronger foundation.

How the Primary Programme is Designed

The Primary Programme at Savvyaa is designed around one clear idea: children should not simply move from class to class. They should grow in the right way, year by year.

  • strengthen basics before moving ahead
  • build confidence before greater independence is expected
  • understand clearly before applying on their own
  • grow in routine, responsibility, and participation
  • develop both academic ability and personal steadiness

The focus is not on rushing children. The focus is on helping them grow properly through each stage of primary school.

The Savvyaa 60-20-20 Model

Savvyaa follows a practical 60-20-20 approach for the Primary Years.

Strong Academic Foundation

Language, mathematics, comprehension, writing, concept learning, and reasoning.

Inquiry, Application and Exploration

This model helps the programme stay balanced while keeping academics strong.

Primary program

1. What Parents Can Expect in the Primary Years

During the Primary Years, parents should be able to notice growth not only in books and notebooks, but also in the child’s daily learning behaviour.

  • reading ability
  • writing clarity
  • confidence in mathematics
  • speaking and classroom participation
  • listening and attention
  • work habits and responsibility
  • curiosity and questioning
  • physical confidence and participation
  • readiness to manage learning with less support over time

The school believes progress should be visible in the child’s learning, habits, confidence, and everyday approach to school.

2. How Learning is Guided

At Savvyaa, learning is guided in a clear and steady way.

  • teacher-led explanation
  • guided practice
  • class discussion
  • reading and writing routines
  • notebook work
  • activity-based learning
  • project participation
  • feedback and correction
  • growing independence over time

This helps children build understanding before they are expected to perform on their own.

3. Inquiry, Exploration, and Problem-Solving

At Savvyaa, children are encouraged to go beyond memorizing answers.

  • observe carefully
  • ask questions
  • notice patterns
  • think through problems
  • connect learning to real situations
  • explain what they understand

This includes hands-on science observation, practical mathematics thinking, simple experiments and demonstrations, measuring, sorting, comparing, and reasoning, project-based exploration, discussion, questioning, and explanation.

The aim is to help children build curiosity, clarity, and confidence in how they think - not only in what they write.

4. The Primary Journey from Grade 1 to Grade 5

Grades 1-2 | Building the Base - focus on reading readiness and early fluency, handwriting and written expression, number sense and basic mathematics, listening and participation, classroom routines, confidence in school life, and comfort in speaking and responding.

Grades 3-4 | Strengthening Understanding - stronger reading and comprehension, paragraph writing and written clarity, deeper mathematics understanding, questioning and reasoning, concept explanation, teamwork and projects, and responsibility in work habits.

Grade 5 | Readiness for the Next Stage - stronger academic confidence, clearer reading and writing ability, concept application, independent work habits, communication and presentation, responsibility and self-management, and readiness for the next stage of school.

5. What Children Should Gain by the End of Grade 5

  • stronger reading fluency and comprehension
  • clearer writing and expression
  • confidence in mathematics basics and reasoning
  • greater comfort in speaking and participation
  • better classroom habits and responsibility
  • stronger attention and work discipline
  • more confidence in projects, discussion, and response
  • physical confidence and participation in movement and sports
  • readiness to move into the next stage with a stronger base

This is the long-term goal of the Savvyaa Primary journey.
